Tiny and The Muse Lavinia

Updated: Nov 28

Hormone & Fertility Specialist and upcoming columnist for The Tiny Muse

conscious woman empowerment

Introducing a muse who also has her very own column launching on the platform soon.

Lavinia Frantzen is a fertility coach & hormone /cycle expert who previously worked as a recipe developer and private chef, creating hormone-proof meals for individuals and retreats worldwide. A divine combination and foundation of the business she started four years ago. Driven by a deep desire to guide women on their journey to more balance in life. We're exited for her to educate the Tiny Muse on her journey to understand the female cycle.

What gives your work purpose?

My mission is to raise awareness about how individuals can optimally support their fertility. I primarily guide women on a conscious journey towards pregnancy, emphasizing the importance of preparing for pregnancy, hormonal balance, and living according to the female cycle. Overcoming PCOS and achieving natural pregnancy after multiple miscarriages inspired me to support others in similar transformations. My programs focus on fertility awareness, conscious conception, and pregnancy, providing women (and men) with tools and knowledge to support their fertility.

How did you get involved in your current work?

In 2013, diagnosed with PCOS after discontinuing hormonal contraception, I received little support. Determined to restore my cycle naturally, I explored various approaches from orthomolecular therapy to breathwork. After a year and a half, my cycle returned stronger than ever. Motivated by this, I pursued studies to become a hormone therapist and, subsequently, an breath coach, as bodywork played a significant role in balancing my cycle.

What's the most significant revelation you've had as a hormone and fertility coach?

Starting my practice amid the COVID-19 pandemic, I witnessed many fertility treatments in hospitals halted. Couples seeking alternatives for pregnancy preparation with my guidance experienced remarkable success. This early success was a revelation, especially considering my recent start and limited application of my method.

Has motherhood changed your business, and how do you balance motherhood and work?

Motherhood prompted a rebranding, aligning my offerings with my evolved self. I now focus on conscious pregnancy preparation, alongside optimizing fertility for both women and men. Balancing motherhood and work remains challenging. The freedom I once had is gone, requiring adjustment to fixed workdays. Embracing this transition, I've learned to surrender during moments when I can't accomplish everything—a valuable lesson in letting go and maintaining trust.

What advice would you give your younger self with your current professional knowledge?

Trust your instincts and your heart. Dive into what ignites your passion and specialize in that—there lies your gold.

What question do you most frequently receive at work?

"How can I incorporate more peace into my life?"

A fact and a myth within your expertise?

Fact: "Progesterone prepares the body for pregnancy." A proper rise in this hormone is crucial for facilitating pregnancy.

Myth: "You cannot get pregnant during your period." Explanation: In a shorter cycle, ovulation might occur soon after menstruation. Sperm can survive up to five days after intercourse, allowing conception shortly after menstruation in women with shorter cycles.

If you could collectively change something about your work, what would it be?

Create even more awareness among women and men about supporting and optimizing fertility—for the future of our children and our own health.
